Empress E-Max

IPS E.max is a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic material manufactured by Ivoclar Vivadent and is considered the gold standard for anterior cosmetic dentistry. Its exceptional light-transmitting properties mimic the natural translucency of tooth enamel, producing results that are virtually indistinguishable from real teeth. At Taki Dent Antalya, E.max is our preferred material for veneers, crowns, and inlays on front teeth where aesthetics are the top priority. It also offers excellent strength, making it suitable for long-term use.

E.max (lithium disilicate) excels in aesthetics — its translucency is superior to zirconia, making it ideal for front teeth where appearance is critical. Zirconia (zirconium dioxide), on the other hand, is stronger and more opaque, making it the preferred choice for back teeth or full-arch bridges under heavy chewing forces. At Taki Dent, our prosthodontists select the most appropriate material based on the tooth location, function, and your aesthetic goals. Some patients benefit from a combination of both.

E.max restorations are particularly suited to front teeth — incisors, canines, and premolars — where aesthetics take priority. They are used for veneers, single crowns, inlays, and onlays. While E.max has good strength (flexural strength ~400 MPa), it is not the first choice for multi-unit bridges on back teeth where greater mechanical load is expected. E.max veneers and crowns at Taki Dent Antalya are priced significantly lower than in the UK or Germany — often 60–70% less. Despite the lower price, we use genuine IPS E.max material fabricated in our in-house digital lab with CAD/CAM precision. E.max restorations at Taki Dent are designed to last 15–20 years or more with proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups. The material resists staining and maintains its colour over time.
