Smile Makeover (Hollywood Smile)

A “Hollywood smile” is a complete cosmetic smile makeover, usually using a set of porcelain/e.max veneers or crowns (commonly 8–20 teeth) designed together to improve colour, shape, alignment and proportion.

Adults with generally healthy teeth and gums who want a comprehensive aesthetic transformation of their visible teeth and understand it is an elective cosmetic treatment.

It is not advisable with active gum disease or decay (which must be treated first), or untreated teeth grinding without a night guard. For minor changes, more conservative options are preferable.

Alternatives include teeth whitening (colour only), composite bonding, orthodontics/aligners (alignment), or treating only selected teeth rather than a full set. We recommend the least invasive route that meets your goal.

Usually two visits (digital smile design and preparation, then fitting), often within one trip; a diagnostic mock-up lets you preview the result before treatment.

Temporary sensitivity and mild gum tenderness after preparation are common and usually settle within days. A short adaptation period to the new smile is normal.

Less common but more significant issues include a veneer/crown chipping or debonding, marginal staining over time, or the need for replacement. Grinding without a night guard increases risk; ceramic restorations show high long-term survival in the literature.

Success means a natural-looking, comfortable, well-fitting smile that meets the agreed design. Failure means debonding, fracture or unacceptable aesthetics; affected units are re-bonded or remade — corrective clinical work is covered by the written guarantee.

There is essentially no surgical recovery; mild sensitivity may last a few days. Most people adapt to the new smile quickly.

Avoid biting very hard objects, use a night guard if you grind, maintain thorough brushing and flossing, and attend regular check-ups to protect your results.

Restorations carry Taki Dent’s own 5-year written guarantee, counted from the day the final restoration is delivered, subject to conditions. Restorations in genuine Ivoclar IPS e.max additionally carry Ivoclar’s own separate 10-year manufacturer guarantee. Corrective clinical work covered by the guarantee is free at the clinic; travel is not automatically covered (only by prior written agreement in exceptional cases).
