The main alternative to a root canal is extraction of the affected tooth. However, saving your natural tooth is almost always the preferred option, as replacements (implants, bridges) cost more and have limitations. In rare cases where the tooth structure is too severely damaged, extraction followed by a dental implant may be recommended. Recovery from root canal treatment at Taki Dent is typically quick — most patients return to normal activities the same day or the day after. Common signs that you may need root canal treatment include persistent toothache (especially when biting), prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling or a pimple on the gum near the tooth, tooth discolouration, and tenderness in surrounding gum tissue.
