Are dental implants in Turkey safe and worth it?

Quick answer: Yes. Taki Dent places premium Straumann and Nobel Biocare implants for 50–70% less than UK prices. Independent research reports around 95% implant survival at 10 years (Howe et al., Journal of Dentistry, 2019) — reassuring given that roughly 60% of UK adults had not seen an NHS dentist in 24 months (NHS England GP Patient Survey 2024).

Dental Implants Turkey Cost: How Much Are Dental Implants in Antalya?

At Taki Dent, a single dental implant starts from €899 for the titanium post; a zirconia crown adds from €215 per tooth. That is roughly 60–70% below the £2,000–£3,500 a single implant typically costs privately in the UK. The dental implants Turkey cost you are quoted depends on how many teeth you are replacing, the implant brand — Straumann or Nobel Biocare — and whether any bone grafting is required.

Choosing dental implants in Antalya does not mean compromising on materials: Taki Dent places the same premium systems used across Europe, plans every case with a 3D CBCT scan, and gives you a fixed written quote before you travel. The saving on even a few implants comfortably covers flights and a stay on the Mediterranean coast.

What is this treatment?+

A dental implant is a small, medical-grade titanium screw placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once it fuses with the bone (osseointegration), a crown, bridge or denture is attached on top to restore function and appearance.

Who is it suitable for?+

Adults with one or more missing teeth who have enough healthy jawbone (or who can have bone grafting), healthy gums, and reasonable general health. It is often the most stable long-term option for replacing missing teeth.

Who is it not suitable for?+

Implants may not be recommended, or may need extra planning, for: uncontrolled diabetes, active untreated gum disease, heavy smokers (higher failure rates), recent head/neck radiotherapy or certain bone medications (bisphosphonates), and children whose jaws are still growing. A full assessment decides suitability case by case.

What are the alternatives?+

The main alternatives are a fixed dental bridge (uses adjacent teeth for support), a removable partial or complete denture, or leaving the gap untreated. Each has different costs, longevity and effects on neighbouring teeth — we explain the trade-offs so you can choose.

Can the natural tooth be saved instead?+

Yes — where a natural tooth can realistically be saved (for example with a root canal and a crown), preserving it is usually preferable to extraction and an implant. Implants are for teeth that are already missing or cannot be saved. We always assess whether the tooth can be kept first.

How many visits are needed?+

Typically two visits: the first for implant placement, and a second (usually 3–4 months later) to fit the permanent crown after the implant has fused with the bone. In selected immediate-loading cases, temporary fixed teeth can be placed at the first visit.

How many days should I stay?+

Around 3–5 days for the first (surgical) visit and about 5–7 days for the second (restorative) visit, depending on the number of implants and any additional procedures. Your exact schedule is given before you travel.

Are temporary teeth provided?+

Yes — a temporary crown or denture is normally provided so you are not left with a visible gap, particularly for front teeth, while the implant heals.

Materials and brands used+

We use internationally recognised implant systems including Straumann and Nobel Biocare, chosen to suit the clinical case. Crowns are typically zirconia or IPS e.max. The recommended system is stated in your written treatment plan.

Which clinician performs it?+

Implant surgery is performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon; the crown and prosthetic work are designed and fitted by Specialist Prosthodontist Dr Sadık Taki. You are treated by the right specialist for each stage, not a single general dentist.

Common risks and side effects+

Most patients experience some swelling, bruising, minor bleeding and temporary discomfort for a few days, which usually settles with simple pain relief. Temporary numbness or altered sensation can occur and normally resolves.

Less common but serious risks+

Less common but more serious risks include implant failure or non-integration (independent research reports roughly 90–95% survival at 10 years — Howe et al., Journal of Dentistry, 2019), infection around the implant (peri-implantitis), nerve injury causing lasting numbness, and — for upper back implants — sinus complications. These are uncommon and are minimised by 3D CBCT planning and specialist surgery.

How success and failure are defined+

Success means the implant has fused with the bone, is stable and supports a functional, comfortable, natural-looking restoration. Failure means the implant becomes loose, infected or loses supporting bone; if this happens, it is removed and, where appropriate, replaced — corrective clinical work is covered by the guarantee.

Recovery and healing+

Initial soft-tissue healing takes about 1–2 weeks. Full osseointegration (the implant fusing with bone) takes roughly 3–4 months before the permanent restoration is fitted. Most people return to normal daily activity within a day or two of surgery.

Eating and oral hygiene+

Eat soft foods and avoid chewing directly on the surgical site for the first few days. Do not smoke, as it significantly increases failure risk. Keep the area clean with gentle brushing as instructed, and attend regular check-ups and professional cleaning to protect your implants long term.

What the guarantee covers+

Implant fixtures and components carry the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s conditions. Corrective clinical work covered by our written guarantee is carried out at the clinic free of charge. Travel and accommodation are not automatically covered; in exceptional cases where the clinic accepts clinical responsibility, travel support may be approved in writing before travel.

What the price includes+

The implant treatment price typically includes the consultation, 3D CBCT scan, the surgery and the implant fixture with healing components. The final crown (and any bone graft or sinus procedure) is priced separately and stated clearly in your written plan — see the prices page.

Documents you receive+

You receive a written treatment plan and quotation, an implant passport/brand card identifying the exact implant used, an itemised invoice, your written guarantee document, personalised aftercare instructions, and copies of your radiographs.

What to do in an emergency+

If you have severe pain, heavy bleeding, spreading swelling or fever after returning home, seek urgent local dental or medical care without delay and contact us via WhatsApp or phone. Our clinical team will assess remotely and advise on next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do dental implants cost in Turkey compared to the UK?

Dental implants in Turkey cost 50–70% less than in the UK or Germany. A single dental implant at Taki Dent starts from €899 (a zirconia crown adds from €215 per tooth), compared to £2,000–£3,500 in the UK. Despite the lower price, Taki Dent uses the same premium implant brands — Straumann and Nobel Biocare — trusted by clinics across Europe.

How long does the dental implant process take in Turkey?

The complete implant process involves two visits. During your first trip (3–5 days), Taki Dent places the titanium implant post after a thorough 3D CBCT scan assessment. You then return home while osseointegration takes place over 3–6 months. On your second visit (2–3 days), the permanent ceramic crown is fitted. Many patients use the healing period to plan an extended Antalya holiday.

Is dental implant surgery painful?

Dental implant surgery at Taki Dent is performed under local anaesthesia or IV sedation, so the procedure itself is painless. Most patients experience only mild soreness and swelling for 3–5 days after surgery, easily managed with prescribed medication. Our clinical team provides comprehensive post-operative support, including 24/7 WhatsApp aftercare for international patients.
