Root Canal Treatment:
Relieve Pain. Save Your Tooth. Restore Your Smile.

Root canal treatment (endodontic therapy) is a highly effective procedure used to treat and save teeth that are infected or severely decayed. It eliminates pain, removes infection, and allows the tooth to be preserved instead of extracted.

What Is a Root Canal?

Inside every tooth is a soft tissue called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. When the pulp becomes infected due to deep decay, trauma, or repeated dental procedures, it can cause severe pain or lead to an abscess.
A root canal involves removing the infected pulp, cleaning the canals inside the tooth, and then sealing it with a filling or crown.

Signs You Might Need a Root Canal

  • Persistent toothache or pressure

  • Sensitivity to hot or cold (lingering pain)

  • Swelling or tenderness around the gums

  • Darkening or discoloration of the tooth

  • Pimple-like bump on the gums (abscess)

  • Pain when chewing or touching the tooth

How Is the Procedure Done?

  1. Diagnosis – X-rays are taken to assess the damage.

  2. Anesthesia – The area is numbed for a pain-free procedure.

  3. Cleaning – The infected pulp is removed and the root canals are disinfected.

  4. Filling – The canals are filled with a biocompatible material.

  5. Restoration – A crown is usually placed to protect the tooth and restore full function.

How Long Does It Take?

  • 1–2 appointments depending on the severity of infection

  • Each session typically lasts 60–90 minutes

Is It Painful?

No. Modern techniques and local anesthesia make root canal treatment virtually painless—similar to getting a filling. Most patients report feeling relief right after the treatment.

Aftercare Tips

  • Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until fully restored with a crown

  • Maintain good oral hygiene

  • Attend follow-up visits as recommended

  • Take prescribed medications if needed
